90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars

These bags of 90% Silver Half Dollars contain $100 in face value of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. These coins were designed by Adolph A. Weinman and were minted by the United States from 1916 to 1947. Each bag holds 200 of these coins, containing a total of about 71.5 troy ounces of pure silver. As one of the few half-dollar coins produced with 90% silver, each coin contains a total of .3575 troy ounces of pure silver, making it a formidable investment. Please be advised that this bag contains coins of varying mintage years and conditions, whose distribution is dependent upon availability at the time of order placement. While Dave&Co cannot disclose such specifics prior to shipment, customers can place their orders in full confidence that the coins they receive will be to their satisfaction.

Displayed on the front of each half-dollar is Adolph Weinman’s eponymous Walking Liberty design. This inspiring rendition depicts Lady Liberty marching across an open field, classically garbed in a Phrygian cap and a toga bearing the stars and stripes of the US flag. In one hand, she carries a bundle of laurel and oak branches in reference to America’s abundant resources. The other hand extends in a gesture of welcome towards the rising sun, symbolizing not only the generosity with which the US shares its abundance, but also the hope that this generosity inspires in those who immigrate to this country. The optimism of this piece is further emphasized by the inscription of “In God We Trust” that appears to right of Lady Liberty.

The reverse side of the coin has been embossed with a striking image of the US’s national bird, the bald eagle. In this image, the proud bird is portrayed in a rather dignified stance as it perches upon a mountain summit. It is encircled by a ring of text, which includes the coin’s country of issue and denomination. The olive branch that protrudes from its left most talon represents the peace that has sustained the unity of this nation for so long. Further contributing to this message are the words “E Pluribus Unum” that appear directly in front of the eagle.
