The Gold Maple Leaf
The Royal Canadian Mint’s Gold Maple Leaf coins are one of the world’s longest-running Gold bullion series. This series began in 1979 and features a sugar maple leaf design on the reverse, as well as changing effigies of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The coin was initially just .999 pure before being refined to .9999 purity in 1982. The Gold Maple Leaf coins are minted in several different weights including 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10th oz. The coin is also available as a set of four coins with the four different weights combined into one set.

The Royal Canadian Mint’s Bullion DNA Program
Since 2015, the Bullion DNA program offered by the Royal Canadian Mint has provided the highest security on the market for any bullion coin. Each coin has its own unique textured security privy mark that has been micro-engraved with laser technology and can be seen only under magnification. Two numbers are etched into the security mark, creating a unique identifier for each product. The mint records, encodes and scans each micro-engraving for authentication, giving each coin its unique Bullion DNA.
